Small size gourd, very suitable for family cooking use and for home gardens. Winter Melon is also called Wax Melon or White Gourd. They are from the same Genus of the Gourd Family. It is a fast-growing, long-season, warm-climate vegetable. The plant produces fruits on vines, like the pumpkin on ground. Some varieties can grow up to 20 kilos in size. Fruits can be stored in a cool place for months and used later in winter time. Thus this gourd is called Tong Kwa, meaning "Winter Melon" in Chinese.
